Learn about the program and the team behind the scenes
Established in 2012, the American Language Institute created the Undergraduate Student Consultant (uSC) program. In hopes of providing an outlet for international teaching assistants to gain extra one-on-one tutoring from a native English speaker. After its creation, uSCs and ITAs loved the arrangement, and it has been a popular program ever since.
Our Goal
The uSC/ITA program allows for the opportunity for international students to improve their English, learn about American culture, and become better teachers in the undergraduate classrooms. In addition, they are able to form unique relationships with their uSC that can last throughout their time here at the university.
